AVON LAKE — Temporary layoffs at Ford Motor Co.’s Ohio Assembly Plant will end Feb. 19 with the resumption of a night shift.
United Auto Workers Local 2000 Chairman Herb Bennett said all laid-off employees will return to continue working on the F-650 and F-750.
“Keep in mind there has been continued production of the F-650, F-750 on dayshift while the night shift went away for a brief period,” Bennett said.
The layoffs were instituted in May for about 140 workers on the line and in material handling. Production for the vehicles dropped to one shift. Those who were laid off received 85 percent of their pay and health care benefits were unaffected.
