ELYRIA — For three years in a row, the Nick Abraham Elyria Ford dealership has won the President’s Award from Ford Motor Co.
The award is given to the top 10 percent of dealerships in the county, out of about 400 dealers. Ford Pittsburgh Regional Manager Paul Bucek said it’s narrow for repeats, especially three in a row.
Owner Nick Abraham said it takes everybody involved in the dealership to be able to win the award.
“Service is a big part of it, what people think about how they were treated,” he said. “You’ve got to train people to take care of people. And that’s what we do.”
Abraham also cited the community events they help host, like school fundraisers, the pizza challenge and being the rainout spot for the Rotary steak fry.
“We try and invest in the community because they invest in us,” he said.
Bucek concurred with Abraham. He said it really comes down to the people. A Ford product is the same across the country, but the service isn’t always.
“Think of the volume they do at the store from a sales and service perspective, they touch so many customers and those customers repeatedly are saying they’re receiving great service here,” Bucek said. “So, it’s a pretty amazing award to achieve.”
The award is for dealerships that give the best customer service and meet sales requirements.
The dealership is family-owned and Abraham’s son and daughter work there. He said the turnover rate has been low, and most of the staff has been there a long time.
The dealership sells about 1,800 to 2,000 vehicles a year.
