LORAIN — Police are investigating what could be the city’s seventh homicide this year.

Police were called to a home at the intersection of West 9th Street and Lexington Avenue around 11 a.m. today, and the Lorain County Coroner is on the scene. Police confirmed that a man is dead, but cannot confirm the cause of death and are investigating as a homicide.

A neighbor claimed to have heard a loud slam around 1:30 a.m. today, and noises like furniture being moved.

The city has seen five homicides since July 12.
