ELYRIA — A Lorain man faces operating a vehicle while impaired charge after a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon, according to a police report.
Officers said they arrived at three-car collision on state Route 57 and Abbe Road North. A man later identified as Lamarr Morman III, 29, of Lorain, initially told police he wasn’t driving, but police learned later he was behind the wheel of an Oldsmobile and at fault for the crash, police said.
Officers said they smelled alcohol on Morman, noticed he had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his speech, according to police. When asked if he had any thing to drink or smoke, he said he smoked earlier that day.
Officers then gave a field sobriety test, which he failed. Officers sent Morman to Lorain County Jail with a pending court date and a bond set at $1,460.
