LORAIN — A man was shot and killed in Lorain on Tuesday evening.
About 7:15 p.m., police responded to a call from a neighbor in the 1500 block of Herbert Drive. A man, later identified by Lorain police as Jeremy A. Mills, 30, of Lorain, was found in the parking lot of an apartment building, but it is unclear if he was a resident of the building.
“We received a call from someone who said they thought they heard shots and somebody moaning, and officers arrived and found a male in the parking lot,” Capt. Michael Failing said. “They were unable to revive him.”
The man was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Police declined to release the man’s identity, pending family notification.
Police are investigating the shooting and have no suspects at this time. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police at (440) 204-2100.
Lt. Ed Super said detectives still are at the beginning stages of the investigation and cannot speculate motivations for the shooting.
