ELYRIA — Police arrested three people early Wednesday morning following an assault on four women on Rosewood Drive that sent two of them, including one who is pregnant, to the hospital.

Paris Makuch, 20, of the 400 block of 13th Street; Namon Oliver Jr., 22, of the 1300 block of East Avenue; and Alexis Logsdon, 20, of the 300 block of 10th Street, were arrested on one count each of felonious assault, all second-degree felonies, and three counts each of assault, all first-degree misdemeanors, according to Elyria police.

All three were taken to Lorain County Jail after their arrests. Makuch, who has a history of arrests for violence, was held on $50,000 bond, while Logsdon and Oliver each were held on $35,000 cash bond following their arraignments in Elyria Municipal Court.

Elyria police said the victims — Kelsey Brooks, 22, Kenadey Brooks, 19, and Kamrey Brookes-Haynes, 23, and their friend Aziah Thompson, 18 — reported that they were leaving a Rosewood Drive residence to get food when Kenadey Brooks got a text message from Logsdon “which read she wanted to fight Kenadey.”

Kenadey ignored the text but also started getting SnapChat messages from Logsdon, who claimed to be waiting outside her house. Logsdon allegedly also sent photos of Kenadey’s house and car and, using profanity, threatened to show up and assault Kenadey.

As the four women returned to the Rosewood Drive residence, they found Logsdon, Makuch and Oliver waiting for them. The three suspects then allegedly attacked each woman in turn, kicking and punching them while they were on the ground, police said.

Thompson and Kelsey Brooks also reported being assaulted while trying to break up the fight and protect Kamrey Brooks-Haynes, who is pregnant. The mother of three of the girls, Eiesha Brooks, also reported seeing the assault take place, according to Elyria police.

Brooks-Haynes reported that all three suspects had kicked or punched her in the stomach and she was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She also suffered a large scratch on the right side of her face, according to Elyria police.

Kenadey Brooks was having trouble breathing and had scratch marks under her right eye, so she also was taken to UH Elyria. Kelsey Brooks and Thompson declined medical attention.

All three suspects had left the scene by the time police and ambulance personnel arrived, but as an officer was typing up the report at the police station, Logsdon, Makuch and Oliver showed up in the lobby there. All three were then arrested.

An alleged motive for the incident was not listed in the police report.

Makuch is the only one of the suspects with offenses of violence on her arrest record in Lorain County. She was charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of criminal damaging during a September arrest by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, according to jail records.

Oliver has prior arrests on charges of theft and failure to appear in court, records show.
