Reward offered in Elyria homicide

ELYRIA − The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Ivan Brooks, wanted for homicide by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Elyria Police Department.

Brooks allegedly shot and killed Terrence Taylor, 45, early Tuesday morning at a residence near the 800 block of West Broad Street in Elyria. It is alleged that the shooting happened after a verbal altercation between Brooks and Taylor.

Brooks is a 34 year old black male whis is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. His last known address is the 3300 block of Lexington Avenue in Lorain, and he also is known to frequent the area of Eastlawn Street in Lorain.

Brooks, who was paroled from an Ohio prison in February, has a lengthy criminal record and should be considered armed and dangerous.
