Three hurt in Henrietta Township crash

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol officers, LifeCare, and Life Flight responded to an accident on Rt. 113 and Vermilion Road on Tuesday, July 23.

HENRIETTA TWP. — Three people were in serious condition after a collision at the intersection of Vermilion Road and state Route 113.

According to Ohio Highway Patrol Sgt. Eugene Crum, two cars collided when Steven Copley, 49, of Elyria, made a left turn onto Vermillion Road in front of Melissa Yakunovuch, 55, of Wakeman, who was traveling eastbound on Route 113.

Yakunovich and her grandson, 3, were transported to Lorain-Mercy Hospital. Their injuries both were deemed serious. Copley was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, also with injuries deemed serious.

The crash happened at 11:35 a.m. Crum said the road was closed at the intersection for about an hour after the crash.
