GRAFTON — A 43-year-old man is in Lorain County Jail after he threatened to “shoot and kill” his neighbors.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Sunshine Court at 4:23 p.m. Friday after a resident stated that his neighbor was “screaming out of his bedroom front window at his wife and three small kids that were walking past his home stating that he was going to shoot and kill them.”
Daniel Kimble, 43, of 1000 block Sunshine Court, was charged with aggravated menacing, inducing panic, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while intoxicated.
According to police, as statements were given regarding the incident by the neighbor, additional neighbors walked to the scene and reported similar incidents by Kimble.
“Both persons stated that no one on the street provoked Daniel to say these things to them and that they felt afraid that he may make good of his word,” police said.
Grafton police instructed all residents to stay in their home as LaGrange police were called for assistance.
As officers attempted to have Kimble exit his residence, he refused. Kimble was highly intoxicated and “decided to go limp and fell to the ground refusing to get back up,” police said.
“He then attempted to get the handcuffs from behind his back by placing them past his leg to be placed in front of his body,” police said.
After a 15-minute struggle with police, Kimble was placed in the patrol car while screaming obscenities at police.
Kimble was transported to Lorain County Jail. His bail is set at $42,500 with is next court date set for Aug. 29. On Monday, he was committed to the county jail pending examination.
