Edward E. Koehn, 70, residing in Huron, passed away Friday evening, January 12, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home, following a 35 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born July 17, 1947 in Elyria, to the late Floyd and Beverly (Peterman) Koehn.
Ed graduated from Elyria High School in 1965, attended Ohio University and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ed was an Air Traffic Controller at the Cleveland Center in Oberlin, retiring in 2001 after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Elyria V.F.W. and enjoyed speed boating, his 1963 corvette, was a championship golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his wife, Betty (Fritz), whom he married November 29, 1969; son, Gustave Fritz (Jenn) Koehn of Avon Lake; two grandchildren, Gavin and Ian Koehn; uncle, Frank Peterman of Texas and his puggle buddies, Edie and Sami.
Including his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Mike Koehn and his brother, Michael Koehn.
Private family services will be held and conducted at a later date. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
