Known as 'The Voice of Oberlin', 89 year old George A. Abram transitioned into the arms of the Lord, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Hospice of Western Reserve (Ames location) in Westlake. George was born December 3, 1928 in Hilltop, West Virginia and Georges' family later moved to Beckley, West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, The Reverend S.A. Abram and Naomi Edmonds Abram; brothers, Samuel, Jr., Edward and Raymond.
Cherishing his memory is his loving devoted wife of 65 years, Cleo Dickason Abram; children, Gregory (Amanda), Deborah (James) and Gail; sisters, Kathryn Abram Duckett (Lewis) and Drema Abram Brown; four grandchildren, Bryan, Dominique, Samuel and Jasmine; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Carrie, Doris and Betty and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. in the First Church of Oberlin, 106 N. Main St. Oberlin. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Carter Funeral Homes, Inc., 127 W. Bridge St., Elyria.
