Marshall B. Gates, Jr., 66, of Wellington, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side, following a brief illness.
Marshall was a retiree from local 310 in 2009, he was a hardworking man, starting at the age of 10. He farmed for over 40 years, he had a wood business and several other jobs working outside running machinery. Marshall enjoyed shooting pool, avid coon hunter competing with his beagles, loved the outdoors, farming cutting wood fishing, attending the Lorain County Fair, spending time with family and grandkids, he was always joking and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Fay (nee Pilarsh); children, Beverly (Joel) Rosipko, Jason (Trisha) Gates; stepchildren, Terry (Melanie) Yee, Jeremy (April) Yee, Josh (Jennifer) Yee; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Mike) Burns; brother, Alan Gates; brother-in-law, Bill Finney and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Marshall Gates; daughter, Tina Gates; grandson, Tyler Gates and sisters, Connie Finney, Molly Pearl Gates.
A celebration of life will be at 2 P.M., Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Wellington American Legion, 518 S. Main St., Wellington.
